Hi all,
can I use get_entityset and get_stream on the same media entity?
I want to call get_entityset, because there is more than one file relating to another entity.
kind regards,
Kai

Hello All,
I'm trying to create a Odata service in gateway system using BW easy query. I did the following steps,
1.In the redefine service wizard selected the RFC connection and BeX Query.
2. Gave description for model and service
When i click next i'm getting "Access refused" - /IWBEP/CM_ANALYTICS062
I checked in SM21,st11 in both BW and GW systems couldn't find anything relevant.
I have all necessary authorizations in both the systems.
Please advise on this.
Regards,
Sathyan P
Hi Experts,
Does anyone have idea about...
When are we expecting SAP Netweaver Gateway to support OData v4?
Will it affect the current developments that are done as of OData v2?
Will the applications consuming OData V2 service be impacted?
Regards,
Jiten
Hi experts,
I'm making my first steps into the Gateway and i need to find out where is the best point to start.
My case is, that we will send the oData to Gateway from BPM and expose it to the frontend (UI5 application).
What do i need, in order to take care of the Gateway, taking the service from the BPM and make it ready for consumption?
Do i need an ABAP skills for doing that?
Please refer me to some starting materials.
Thanks in advance,
Georgi
Hi colleges,
I'm starting with SAPUI5.
We have build an app that connects to SAP Gateway and we are looking the way to send back error messages from the business logic.
I found the way to achieve it raising exceptions (/IWBEP/CX_MGW_BUSI_EXCEPTION) but when the error arrives in UI5 it always have status code 400.
Is there any way to send other status code depending on the specific error?
If you have more information to share concerning the error message handling between GW and client, I'll be very pleased.
Thank you & best regards,
Manuel
Wow! TechEd is knocking at our door again. TechEd opens the 'gateway' to meet new people and also people with similar interests. As always, I am excited to participate in one of the biggest technology events. Undoubtedly, it is a world of opportunity for everyone to learn something excitingly new in this event.
Like they say “There is a Gateway for that”, I am thrilled to share that there is a“SAP Gateway” session for you as well. In fact there are several sessions catering to different target groups. The sessions will cover interesting topics like, OData in SAP HANA Cloud Integration, OData in SAP Process Orchestration and Cutting-Edge SAP API Management Leveraging REST. You can find more about all the sessions related to SAP Gateway in thisblog.
It is my privilege to announce that we shall be conducting a Mini Code Jam session on “My First OData Service Using SAP Gateway Technology (CJ606)”.
In recent times, I am happy to see many people showing interest in SAP Gateway. Though, we have good amount of resourceful materials available at the Gateway SCN, I have heard that learners find it difficult to kick start their learning process. So, here is an opportunity for beginners to get enlightened with concepts of OData and Gateway in this session. In this session you will be able to understand the important role played by SAP Gateway in the mobility world. The session will start with an overview of OData and SAP Gateway, then we will guide you to construct OData URIs to access different information from the backend. At the end of the session, you will be able to create a simple OData service with QUERY-CREATE-READ-UPDATE-DELETE operations using the code based approach.
If you have never created any OData service before, do not worry we shall help you to create your first OData service. We would also help you to get your doubts cleared.
So, if you are a newbie or an enthusiast, here is a chance to venture into SAP Gateway.
I am excited to meet you, see you there …
Hi experts,
I have a TABLE AS INPUT to an RFC which i am mapping to create odata.
for the table with fields : i have created a entity type RFCINPUT with property as :
MANDT | Types | MANDT |
VBELN | Types | VBELN |
POSNR | Types | POSNR |
ERDAT | Types | ERDAT |
ERZET | Types | ERZET |
QUERY 1:
WHERE should the mapping be done?? under create or getentityset(query) or update of the entity type.???
QUERY 1:
while giving we can use $filter for single input in the URL itself.
However for multiple input as a table how to handle using rest client postman .( $batch is used i think which i have no idea about)
Cannot we JSON as an INPUT in postman.
Thanks in ADVANCE.
Hello,
after spending some time on google i didn't find a helping thread.. so i'll give it a try at the SCN
We've developed a gateway service to create leaverequests.
The included check returns warning messages as "leave request is in workfree time" - for example for a weekend.
The LR will still be persisted - so no exceptions.
But i want to return these messages to the gatewayservice/frontend.
I found a thread that helped me a little, but i'm not quite satisfied yet.
=> Success/Error/Info Message in return of Odata Service response from ECC
The message will only be returned if i raise an exception.
But i don't want a 400 Bad Request.
The GW Component is updated to SP8 as suggested by Ralf Handl.
Did i do something wrong? Is it even possible to include messages in the return-body?
I tried the example code from the thread linked above.
Thanks for advice!
Greetings,
Pascal
Hi,
Does anyone know if its possible to created multilevel deep create via Gateway?
For Example: I want to create 3 levels deep hierarchy via Gateway in 1 go:
Level 1: Project to Group Products
Level 2: Group Products to Group Sales Articles
Level 3: Group Sales Articles to Article Market Listing
If not, I will have to break these into multiple Asynchronous deep calls bound with some logical keys

Hi,
We are just trying to ramp up on Fiori architecture and utilizing SAP netweaver gateway in combination with SAPUI5 to build new generation user interfaces.
Most of the demos and tutorials I see involve utilizing the SAP netweaver gateway as the oData services provider with the UI components hosted on a separate web server like Apache. Looking at Fiori apps, it looks like they utilize the SAP gateway as the web server itself, without having the need of a separate web server.
Are there some instructions and guidelines for porting a SAPUI5 UI application (UI components) on to the SAP Netweaver gateway, similar to how Fiori does?
thanks,
Nitin
Hi All,
I had created Create deep insert for Header detail scenario.
Things are working fine for GetEntitySet.
I am able to get Header detail data in Client but when I do post for Header details ,
Only Header part is going but no Details data is going.
HTTP Response is 201 is coming but getting only Header Fields no details
IO_DATA_PROVIDER Method is not getting Detail Data.
I checked multiple times Model are fine....
But getting any reason for such behaviors..
Not getting any error ,also
Kindly advice
Regards
Vivek
Hello,
Does anyone know if there are plans for allowing the use of refresh tokens with netweaver gateway's implementation of OAuth? The context I'm thinking of is when using the authorization code flow as described here: Using OAuth 2.0 from a Web Application with Authorization Code Flow - Security and Identity Management - SCN Wiki
Without a refresh token, the users need to keep authorizing the app...
Thanks!
Hi all.
I'm actually having problems when showing some data in a Fiori App. Fiori App is basically making this call:
/sap/opu/odata/sap/APPROVAL_SRV/PaymentBatchCollection?$skip=0&$top=20&$inlinecount=allpages
Without implementing the skip and top functionality, is strange what I get from ET_ENTITYSET. Debuggin the method I can see 38 entries however in the Fiori App I can see that 58 entries have been passed. I'm pretty sure that is because of missing implementation of the top and skip, but after trying with some coding i'm not able to do the correct paging. This is what I wrote ..
lv_top = io_tech_request_context->get_top( ).
lv_skip = io_tech_request_context->get_skip( ).
IF lv_skip IS NOT INITIAL.
DELETE et_entityset TO lv_skip.
endif.
DESCRIBE TABLE et_entityset lines lv_lines.
DELETE et_entityset from lv_top to lv_lines.
With this piece of code I can only see 19 first entries, with no option to get to next page.
Can anybody help me?
Thanks in advance.
Hi Team,
I am trying with service HCI Odata Provisioning. I have installed my SAP Cloud Connector and I have configured Access Control for accessing my abap system. As in our local environment we are not using any SNC library to ensure trust between local machine and application server, I have not configured the Initial Configuration for RFC in Cloud Connector(SNC Library name and QoP).
I have created Destination and Service in my HCI Odata Provisioning Administration.
But when I try to access the Service Document, I am getting the error Forbidden.
In my Cloud Connector Audit Logs, it is shown as "Denying Access to system virtualHost:virtualPort"
Any solution?
Do I have to make any Destinations or changes in my SAP Hana Cloud Platform Cockpit so that I can access the RFC system directly from HCI Odata Provisioning through Cloud Connector?
Is it necessary to configure the SNC Library Name if I want to access ABAP system from Cloud Connector?
Please help.
Regards,
Dhani.
I'm working in building in using Gateway (Hub) to integrate in our backend system (ECC) with another external application. That application provides an OData Service. Has anybody done this before?
I'm using Northwind service as reference.
This is the steps I have followed:
- Create an HTTP destination to the system where the ODATA service/model resides
- Create a new project via SEGW
- Use the option Redefine OData Service, bringing the model from the HTTP destination I have created and I'm able to bring the model
- I generate the runtime objects with no issue
However when I try to Add the service via /IWFND/MAINT_SERVICE, I receive the error "No Model assigned to Service"
Any help will be welcomed.
Hi All,
How to update multiple records in a POST method ?
I have an internal table coming from UI5 , I need to update this table using the POST method via ODATA .
Please provide me direction or solution to update multiple records using POST method via ODATA.
P.S.
I am creating an ODATA service for HR Renewals , and I need to update the form details using the FM HRASR_PROCESS_EXECUTE in ODATA service.
Thanks in advance .
Chandra.
Hi experts.
Need you advice in configuration of SAP Netweaver Gateway.
We have installed SAP NetWeaver 7.40 production system and Netweaver Gateway is a part of our system.
Does we need change our configuration to a gateway as a standalone engine?
This is a productive system and now we use gateway by odata calls with rate about 4 calls per second.
In the future we are planning to increase palyload on Gateway - use odata calls with rate 100-200 calls per second.
Does we need change our configuration to a gateway as a standalone engine?
